Abstract: Living Images is a historical melodrama that takes us through the 20th
\ncentury by telling the stories of two Estonians, Helmi and Julius. The film
\nbegins with their birth in the beginning of the century, in a house
\nbelonging to Baltic Germans in Tallinn, and ends in the end of the century
\nwhen Estonia has restored its independence and on the backdrop of the
\narrival of neo-capitalist values. It is a grotesque approach on the
\ndifficult turns in Estonian, as well as European history and involves a good
