By | July 10, 2016

Dr. Ioannis N. Grigoriadis participated in the Jean Monnet Athens Summer School 2016 entitled “Moving the EU Forward”, which was organized by the Institute of European Integration and Policy (IEIP), School of Economics and Political Sciences, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens between 4 and 10 July 2016. His presentation was held on 9 July 2016 and was entitled “The Migration Crisis: Greece, Turkey and the European Union.

The “Athens Summer School” was an intensive interdisciplinary 6 day course (33 teaching hours), that provided comprehensive knowledge on the different aspects of the economic crisis and the key challenges that Europe faces in the post-crisis era. How and to what extent is the EU crisis considered as an opportunity for moving the EU forward? What lessons can be learned? Which challenges face the EU and how can we deal with them to move the EU forward?  The lectures focused on these key questions, aiming to illuminate, analyze and encourage further discussion about how EU policies and politics are (re)shaped in the aftermath of the current EU economic crisis.
